Ensoft, Inc. was started in Austin, Texas in March 1985 by Dr. Lymon C. Reese. The company was created to deliver quality services in the fields of geotechnical and structural engineering. The company's expertise is the development and application of computer-based solutions to complex engineering problems. Ensoft has since established a good reputation as a leader in these areas. The principal and senior managers of Ensoft have specialized in soil-structure interaction for more than 30 years and have been invited to provide consulting and design services on projects around the world. The firm uses advanced technology, much of it updated with recent research, in the development of engineering software for the solution of complex problems in geotechnical and structural engineering. Notable among Ensoft's computer programs are those used for analysis and design of pile and drilled shaft foundations in nonlinear soil strata. Private and public companies, government agencies, and universities are using Ensoft's software at more than 6,000 locations around the world. The success and reputation of this company is based on the quality of its engineers and their knowledge and experience in the analysis, design, and construction of deep foundations.

Lymon C. Reese & Associates (LCR&A), the consulting division of Ensoft, provides the industry with a team of experienced professionals, delivering expertise in the areas of geotechnical engineering and structural mechanics, with special reference to issues of soil-structure interaction. LCR&A specializes in structural and geotechnical engineering and computer-aided simulation. Areas of practice include design of bridges, port facilities, wind-turbine foundations, offshore structures, shallow/deep foundations, earth-retaining structures, internet-based foundation instrumentation, non-destructive testing of foundations, pile-driving monitoring and analysis and forensic investigation.
